Holding a degree in behavioral science and currently advancing her education in psychology, she bridges academic insight with deep, real-world dedication. As the founder of Ad Astra Recovery Center Inc., Chasta channels her creative energy and strategic drive into building accessible resources, guiding organizational growth, and turning ambitious ideas into meaningful community impact

Shannon brings over two decades of dedicated caregiving to Ad Astra, having served for 20 years as an operating nurse, caring for patients from coast to coast and across Alaska, alongside nearly a decade as a licensed massage therapist. A passionate advocate for animal welfare and community service, she regularly lends her time to various non-profits, and animal shelters. As Board Secretary, Shannon combines her healthcare precision, strong organizational skills, and lifelong heart for service to help guide and support Ad Astra’s mission.

Rebecca Peters Board Member

Rebecca is a driven student of biological sciences and pre-med with a strong passion for health, personal restoration, and community service. Celebrating over seven years of recovery (clean since April 24, 2019), her journey reflects deep resilience, dedication, and a commitment to helping others thrive. In recognition of her academic excellence and leadership, she was named Student of the Month in October 2025.

Monica is a compassionate advocate who has spent her life in service to others, serving as a pillar of support, caregiving, and encouragement within her family and community. Her lived experiences give her a deep, personal understanding of resilience, trauma awareness, and the importance of creating safe, supportive environments for individuals and families in need.

Shalene Vasquez Board Member

Shalene is a woman with over 25 years in recovery and a dedicated community advocate who understands firsthand the courage it takes to rebuild a life. Holding a degree in Social Science with a minor in Psychology, she bridges her professional background with deep empathy, honesty, and personal experience. Driven by her own journey of transformation, she supports individuals and families navigating recovery in the Enid community.
